Professional golfer and Sioux Falls native Kris Tschetter won her first LPGA title on this day in 1992 when she fired a one-over par to capture the Northgate Classic in Brooklyn Park, Minn. This was Tschetter's first victory in five years on the LPGA tour; her father, Dr. Dick Tschetter, was her caddy. Her victory was worth $63,750. She finished in second place at the U.S. Women's Open in 1996 and in 2000, Tschetter crossed the $3 million earnings mark.
